Sembcorp is driving the next phase of India’s energy transition with battery energy storage systems (BESS) that helps strengthen grid stability while scaling up renewables deployment.
Our entry into India’s energy storage market began with our first award from the Solar Energy Corporation of India for a hybrid solar-energy storage project comprising a 150MW solar photovoltaic project and a 300MWh BESS to help meet peak electricity demand. In mid-2025, we achieved a major milestone by securing our first 50MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable power project, supported by BESS.
Today, with a secured development pipeline of over 1.4GWh of BESS, we are well placed to support India’s growing need for flexible and RTC renewable power. Backed by our engineering expertise and a proven track record in hybrid projects, Sembcorp stands as a trusted partner for India’s future-ready energy storage needs.
