Located in the Dhofar Governorate, the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant (Salalah IWPP) consists of a gas-fired combined cycle power facility and a reverse osmosis seawater desalination facility. As Dhofar’s largest and most energy-efficient integrated power and water plant, it ensures reliable electricity and desalinated water for the community across the region.

The Salalah IWPP is operated and maintained by Sembcorp Salalah O&M Services Company (Sembcorp Salalah), a joint venture that is 70% owned by Sembcorp Utilities and 30% owned by Oman Investment Corporation.
The plant supplies power and potable water under a 15-year Power and Water Purchase Agreement with Nama Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP), the single procurer of power and water capacity and output in Oman.
Sembcorp Salalah has signed a new 10-year Power and Water Purchase Agreement with Nama PWP, which will commence in April 2027 after the current contract expires. Under this new agreement, the plant will supply 465MW of power and 68,190m³ of water per day, ensuring long-term operational sustainability and reinforcing our strategic partnership with Oman.
Sembcorp Salalah is listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange and remains the exclusive large-scale commercial potable water production facility in the Dhofar Governorate.
