Sembcorp’s solar energy journey in Oman began with the development of the Manah II Solar Independent Power Project (Manah II) – our first greenfield renewables development in the Middle East.
Strategically located in Manah, within the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate, the project reflects our commitment to supporting Oman’s transition to a low-carbon future.
Solar Capacity
Manah II is the largest utility-scale solar farm in Sembcorp’s global portfolio. Completed more than four months ahead of schedule, it achieved commercial operations in December 2024 and is contracted under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Nama Power and Water Procurement Company. The project generates clean energy for over 60,000 Omani households, helping to avoid nearly 720,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
As a key contributor to Oman Vision 2040, the project plays a vital role in advancing the country’s renewable energy targets and its broader transition to a low-carbon future.
