Sembcorp’s presence in the Sultanate of Oman began in 2009 when it was awarded the Salalah Independent Water and Power Plant project in the Dhofar Governorate. This integrated facility, combining electricity generation and seawater desalination, marked a significant milestone in delivering reliable power and water to support the nation’s growth.
Achieving full commercial operations in 2012, Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Company was listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange in 2013, reinforcing our long-term commitment to Oman’s development.
Building on this foundation, we expanded into renewables with the Manah II Solar Independent Power Project, our first greenfield solar development in the Middle East. Shortly after, we added the Dhofar II Wind Power Project into our portfolio, marking our entry into the region’s wind sector.
From delivering essential power and water solutions to scaling renewables, Sembcorp’s journey in Oman reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability. As we continue to expand our capabilities, we remain focused on supporting Oman Vision 2040 and enabling a cleaner, more resilient future for the country.
